Reuben G. O’Connor

As an Aerospace Engineer, a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer,  and over 15years of experience as a Senior Executive with various Civil Aviation Regulatory bodies in the Pacific. Including Pacific Aviation Safety Office (PASO), Rueben is well qualified to lead CASAPNG Safety Regulatory Division. The Division is responsible for safety oversight of 21 Part 119 AOC holders and 20 Part 145 MOC holders amongst other support service organizations certified under Parts 141, 144 and146. The SRD comprises of 9 Flight Operations Inspectors, 9 Airworthiness Inspectors, 5 Personnel Licensing Inspectors including 1 Medical  Doctor and 3 administration staff.

Education & Qualifications:

· Bachelor in Engineering in Aerospace Engineering (Hons.), Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), University Melbourne, VIC, Australia.

· Masters in Business Administration (MBA), London School of Business and Finance.

· Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (A&C), CAA NZ, Fiji and PNG– AME Apprenticeship training at the Air New Zealand Aviation Training College, Christchurch, New Zealand.

Professional Experience:

· Executive Manager Safety Regulation Division, CASAPNG (Oct 2011 to present)

· Manager Airworthiness, CAA Fiji ( Feb 2007-Oct 2011)

· Airworthiness Inspector (Feb 1999-2007)

· Operations Engineer Shell Fiji (Feb 1997-1999)

Reuben is a member of the Engineers Australia-Aerospace Engineer MIE Aust and PASO accredited Airworthiness Inspector.
